I love worshipping the God of creation with this community! What an excellent start to the lenten season. Lets chase after everything God has for us and be changed forever by Him!
As we paid tribute to our Lord with a special Ash Wednesday service,I ask God what needs to change in my life. OK, I do this a lot, but I just realize I am still way out of balance and too many things are in the way. The sacrifice He made for all of us, so willingly and humbly, reminds me that my life is not my own. How I can lose sight of that so often, I don't know, but it happens. I desire to surrender and devote myself more fully to Him. I am really excited and expectant of what God will do in and through this season!
I'm seeking God about the things that I have allowed to clutter my life - physically, emotionally, and worst of all, spiritually. I do think it all boils down to choice - though overcoming an addiction is very real and very difficult, it is not impossible through the power of the Cross. And every time I say 'I can't', I might as well be crucifying my precious Jesus all over again. We are victorious, empowered, anointed, called according to His purpose, and I for one, need to walk in that every moment of every day. I ask that you join me in asking God to place His finger on the areas of your lives that may be out of balance - to share in this experience and draw closer to the one who knows all about you. To trust Him to bring the revelation you seek, the breakthrough you need, restoration to relationships, physical, emotional and spiritual healing. Has he asked you to slow down? OK for a while, then Life has a way of barreling back at full force, distracting us once again. Is there a health issue you know you need to work on, but temptation is 'too great'? This is one of many on my list, and I know in order to be that Living Sacrifice I desire to be, it's time I made no more excuses.
Whatever it is, I pray for God's grace and mercy to pour into your lives. May His resurrection power and wisdom invade your daily routine. May you see His hand in those little day to day things as well as in moving that mountain in front of you. And may His love envelop you always.
May the God of hope fill you with all Joy and Peace as you trust in Him, so that you may OVERFLOW with HOPE by the Power of the Holy Spirit Romans 15:13
..we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 2 Corinthians 2:15
These are amazing things to think about! They remind me that I truly am not my own, that all I do, all I say, all I think(!) should be about Jesus. I fall pretty short (no pun intended!), but instead of walking in shame and guilt over the mistakes I have made (and WILL make!), I want to walk in His love, let others know about it, and press forward into all He has for me. I can't do that if I continue to cling to what is behind. I guess this is my way of taking 'Spring Ahead' one step further!
I wish you all a beautiful Lenten season and I hope you'll share with others how God has been working in your life! It is more encouraging than you realize! God bless you all - Susie
